If your bill amount is equal to or less than HK$150, it is classified as small amount bill and will be carried forward to your next bill.
Who this applies to
This service only applies to Residential and Non-Residential customers (excluding Bulk Tariff and Large Power Tariff Customers). It occurs when your bill amount is equal to or less than HK$150.
Note:
Small amount bills do not apply to customers using Bank or Credit Card Autopay, who will be charged as usual.
What to expect
To encourage a greener society, we will:
Not send you a hard copy of your bill if your bill amount is equal to or less than HK$150; and
Carry forward your small amount bill to your next bill.
Note:
We will send you a notification letter the first time you have a small amount bill. After that, we will carry forward your small amount bills automatically.

1. Is suppression of small amount bills to residential customer a new arrangement?
Suppression of small amount bill is not a new arrangement. To facilitate residential customer to check the government subsidy/balances, CLP has resumed to send small amount bill since 2008.
As it has been more popular for residential customers to use CLP website and CLP web/app for viewing the bills and government subsidy information, small amount bill arrangement will be resumed for residential customer with effective from May 2023.
Autopay customer will not be affected, and the bill will be sent as usual.
2. How can I view the small amount bill?
Customer may login to CLP website or CLP Web/App to view the latest bill details, including small amount bill and Government Subsidy entitlements/balances.
If customer has registered for eBill, eBill can be received through emails simultaneously.
3. Do I need to pay for small amount bill?
The bill amount of small amount bills will be automatically deferred to the next bill and customer is not required to make payment. Until the bill amount exceeds HK$150, CLP will send paper bill to customer as usual. Customer may accord to the bill payment due date to make payment.
For customer using autopay service, as payment instruction has already made to the bank, even the bill amount is HK$150 or less, it will be charged from the bank on payment due date.
4. Why arrangement on small amount bill for autopay customers are different?
Customer using autopay service has already made the payment instruction to the bank, even the bill amount is HK$150 or less, it will be charged from the bank on payment due date, hence, we have to inform customer in advance.
