Apply for Service Relocation (Residential)

When you move to a new home within Kowloon, New Territories or the Outlying Islands, CLP makes it easy to handle both your move out and move in electricity services with one simple application. This streamlined process ensures a smooth transition as you relocate. Submit your application at least 3 working days before your preferred move out and move in dates.

Note:

You can link your electricity account to Domeo and login Domeo to view the point information and redeem (if applicable), otherwise, the points will be forfeited on the move-out effective date.

This online application takes about 5 minutes to complete. 

At a glance

  • Property Owner/Tenant
  • Authorized Representative/Property Agent on behalf of the client – An additional verification step is required by the client to log in to the CLP Mobile App to confirm that the client is the property owner or tenant before the application can proceed. Click here for more information.

As soon as you sign your:

  • Sale and Purchase Agreement; or
  • Tenancy Agreement.

Before submitting your application, please ensure you have the following information and documents ready:

  1. The complete address of the property.
  2. Identification documents such as:
    • Hong Kong Identity Card;
    • Passport;
    • Chinese travel permit or China resident identity card;
    • Company business registration, etc.
  3. The sale and purchase agreement or tenancy agreement.

Note:

We can only process your application after we receive your Sale and Purchase Agreement or Tenancy Agreement. (CLP will treat the date specified in your submitted tenancy agreement or purchase agreement as the effective date.​)

What happens next

Final bill and deposit refund

You should receive your final bill about 5 working days after your termination date. 

After you receive your final bill, you should receive your deposit refund within 5 working days. We will send your deposit refund through your preferred method (e.g. transfer the dsposit to your new account,cheque or electronic funds transfer).

Confirmation SMS 

Once you submit your online application, we will send an SMS acknowledgement within the same day.  

If you choose to submit your documents at a later date, we will send an SMS reminder within the next working day. Please login to upload related documents. Once the application confirmed, we will send you an SMS notification.

First bill and initial deposit

You may receive first bill within 2 months, at the latest, after your account takes effect. We will collect an initial deposit together with your first bill. The new account deposit balance (if any) will be refunded to the registered customer after closure of the account.

Depending on your electricity needs, you may need to apply for change of load or book an appointment for electrical installation inspection.

By applying for or obtaining electricity, you automatically agree to our Supply Rules (PDF). These rules are the terms and conditions upon which we supply electricity. They apply to all of our registered customers, and may be updated from time to time.
