Eligibility

Understand the building, applicant and project scope requirements for the CLP Eco Building Fund.

To apply CLP Eco Building Fund (EBF), you shall meet the following requirements:

Building

Your building shall:

  • Be a residential, commercial, industrial or mixed-use building in the CLP Power supply area; and
  • Not be directly owned and operated by the Government.

Examples of eligible buildings include clubhouses, shopping malls and schools.

Applicant

You may apply for the fund if you: 

  • Own the building
  • Represent the building’s owner (e.g. owner’s corporation, owner’s committee or mutual aid committee); or
  • Other representatives of building’s owner (e.g. property management company).

The applicant is responsible for:

  • Justifying the project’s cost-effectiveness;
  • Monitoring procurement; 
  • Supervising the project; 
  • Submitting monthly progress updates to CLP; and 
  • Certifying the completion reports.  

 
You may engage a Qualified Service Provider (QSP) and/or an Energy Saving Facilitator (ESF) to assist in processing the application. Our funding covers the service charges for QSP and ESF.

If you have applied for the EBF before, you may submit additional applications for different types of projects or different parts of your building.

If you received subsidies from other funds before, you can still apply for the fund. However, we will deduct that funding amount from our grant.

Project scope

Your project must involve at least one of the following categories: 

  • Building services installation retrofitting projects;
  • Retro-commissioning; or
  • Implementation of smart technologies in buildings.
