Application process

Understand the application process and documents required for the CLP Education Fund.

How to apply                     

Before you apply for the fund, please prepare the following:

Your organisation type
Required documents of CLP Education Fund (Please submit together with the Online Application)

Registered school, tertiary institution and other approved educational institution

Registration or establishment document of a school in Hong Kong (any one of the following):

  • A copy of the Certificate of Registration of a School issued by the Education Bureau under the Education Ordinance (Cap 279) in Hong Kong; or
  • A confirmation letter issued by the Education Bureau for a government school in Hong Kong; or
  • A copy of the ordinance showing that your institute is established by law in Hong Kong; or
  • A copy of the documentary evidence of the registration or establishment of the educational institution under applicable ordinances in Hong Kong, e.g., Post-Secondary Colleges (Cap. 320); or 
  • A document issued by the Faculty/Department/Unit of your institute indicating the endorsement of your project; 

        and

  • A copy of tax exemption certificate issued by the Inland Revenue Deparment confirming that the Applicant is registered as a charitable institution or trust of a public character, which is exempt from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap 112) in Hong Kong, if applicable.

        and

  • Corresponding quotation(s) that facilitate implementation of the education project on Energy Efficiency and Conservation. 

 

 

Registered non-profit-making organisation

Registration or establishment document of a non-profit-making nature of the Applicant (any one of the following):

  • A copy of Certificate of Registration of a Society under the Societies Ordinance (Cap 151) in Hong Kong ; or 
  • A copy of Certificate of Incorporation under the Companies Ordinance (Cap 622) in Hong Kong; 

         and

  • A copy of the tax exemption certificate issued by the Inland Revenue Department confirming that the Applicant is registered as a charitable institution or trust of a public character, which is exempt from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap 112) in Hong Kong; or
  • A copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association showing the non-profit-making nature of the Applicant; or  
  • A copy of other documentary evidence showing the non-profit-making nature of the Applicant.

        and

  • Corresponding quotation(s) that facilitate implementation of the education project on Energy Efficiency and Conservation.

Application channel

Please submit via the Online Application Form embedded in Education Fund (clp.com.hk) and upload all required supporting documents.

What happens next

Assessing your application

We will confirm that we have received your application. Based on your application, we will contact you to request for more information if necessary.

 

Getting approval and updating the result 

We will contact you for the result of funding allocation.

If your application is accepted, confirmation letters will be sent to you. You shall:

  1. accept the offer by signing and applying your organisation chop on both the confirmation letters,
  2. email the scanned letter to educationfund@clp.com.hk and
  3. send one of the original signed and chopped confirmation letters before commencing the project, to the following address:

Starting your project

You can start your approved project according to the “Expected Commencement Date” of your project stated on the application, after sending the signed confirmation letter to 'CLP Education Fund'.   Please complete the project and report project completion within 12 months, starting from the "Expected Commencement Date" stated on your application.

 

Reporting project completion & requesting payment 

When the project was completed, please submit an Online Completion Report and payment request within 12 months, starting from the "Expected Commencement Date" stated on your application.

Site Visit 

CLP will arrange site check for the installed equipment/ tools, as required.
