CLP Power Engineering Cadet Programme

CLP Power Engineering Cadet Programme offers a 12-month programme where engineering talents get to understand and familiarise themselves with the operations of the Power Systems Business Group (PSBG) or the Generation Business Group (GBG). Successful applicant will go through a well-structured familiarisation programme with on-the-job training and rotation experience. Upon successfully completing the programme, Engineering Cadets will continue their engineering journey and progress within CLP Power.

About The Programme 

We offer a 12-month training programme for you to build the competencies needed for professional growth and success and embark on your professional engineering career.

1. Workshop Training  – Receive both theoretical and practical training, ensuring a well-rounded education.
2. Job Rotations / On-the-Job Training  –  Rotate across departments at Power Systems Business Group (PSBG) or Generation Business Group (GBG) to understand business operations. 
3. Landing Role  Be assigned to a specific department to gain in-depth, hands-on experience in the field.
4. Guidance and Mentorship  Provide support and guidance to develop your skills and knowledge.

Career Progression  

When you have completed the programme with high performance, you will be assigned to the Power Systems Business Group (PSBG) or the Generation Business Group (GBG) as Engineering Associate or Assistant Engineer *. 

Who Can Apply ?  

Who are we looking for?

  • Final year students or recent graduates with Higher Diploma / Associate Degree & equivalent or above (1)  (with no more than 3 years of full-time engineering work experience) majoring in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics Engineering 
  • Passionate in developing a professional engineering career through hands-on engineering work 
  • Good safety knowledge and mindset with strong sense of responsibility
  • Good analytical ability and able to work under pressure and tight schedule
  • Conversational English and Fluent Cantonese or Mandarin
  • Willing to take up shift and/or standby duties when needed

    Holders of recognised qualification equivalent to Level 4 of the Qualifications Framework (QF4) or recognised qualification from CLP Power Academy
