Learn the terms and conditions related to CLP Power Mobile App

  • This “CLP Power Mobile App” is a mobile app (this “App”) provided by the CLP Group (“CLP”, or “CLP Group”). It allows you to access your “CLP Online” account, process transactions, obtain online service information and obtain such other products and services provided by CLP Group from time to time on your mobile device (the “Services”).
  • If you are a registered customer of CLP Power, you acknowledge that the CLP Power Hong Kong Limited Supply Rules (“Supply Rules”) shall continue to apply and shall take priority in case of any conflict between the Supply Rules and these Terms.

  • If there is any inconsistency or discrepancy between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.

  • These Terms are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong SAR and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.

  • We may change these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued access and use of this App shall represent your unconditional acceptance of these Terms and as they may be modified and/or supplemented from time to time. 

  • All enquiries, transactional matters and disputes shall be addressed to  “SUPPORT” and be subject to our final determination.

Permission for push notification and locational information

  • Information may be delivered as push notifications to your mobile device, the content of which may contain direct marketing materials. You may activate or deactivate the push notifications by changing the relevant settings on your mobile device at any time.

  • Certain functions on this App (e.g. the function for locating electric vehicle charging stations, may involve the use of your real-time physical location sent from your mobile device (e.g. GPS signals). If you use these functions, you consent to CLP collecting and using your location data to provide the relevant functionality in accordance with these Terms. You may activate or deactivate the location services by changing the relevant settings on your mobile device at any time.

Payment

  • Certain functions on this App (e.g. payment of your electricity bill, online shopping) enable payment processing services (“Payment Services”) via third party service providers, including your online banking, AlipayHK, WeChat Pay HK or other payment channel providers that you select (“Payment Service Providers”). Your use of any of such Payment Services is solely at your own risk. You further acknowledge that the provision of these Payment Services shall be governed by additional terms and conditions of the respective Payment Service Providers (“Additional Terms”) and you agree to comply with such Additional Terms (as modified from time to time). CLP is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from your use of these Payment Services.

Biometric authentication

  • The Face ID, fingerprint or other kinds of biometric let you authenticate your identity and access your account promptly and in a secured manner. You can use such biometric authentication for log on to this App to enjoy services and obtain information.  If you are using biometric for log on, you are not recommended to register any other person’s biometric print onto your mobile device.

One Profile Management via CLP One account

  • This App allows you to manage more than one electricity supply accounts in a single CLP One profile.  You are solely responsible for ensuring you have chosen the appropriate electricity supply account when processing any transactions on this App.

Chatbot Services

  • Chatbot Services enables chatbot, an automated virtual assistant as well as customer service officers to interact with you through a chat screen on this App.

  • You must not use or attempt to use our Chatbot Services to:
    • impersonate any person or entity;
    • adversely affect the reputation of CLP Group;
    • damage or interfere with any Chatbot Services data, software, platform, app or information technology systems of CLP Group;
    • send any offensive, inflammatory, defamatory, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful information; or
    • cause annoyance or inconvenience to CLP Group and its other customers.
       
  • CLP may suspend or terminate your use of Chatbot Services at any time if we reasonably believe that you have breached any of these Terms.

  • CLP does not intend to collect your personal data or other sensitive data via Chatbot Services.   You are responsible for the security of your mobile devices, log on credentials and the information that you disclose through Chatbot Services.

  • While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, the Chatbot Service may contain errors or inaccuracies.  We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the information provided.

  • CLP is not liable to you or any other party for any actions, proceedings, claims, losses or damages suffered by you arising from or connected with your use of Chatbot Services or indirect or consequential loss or for loss or corruption of data, loss of revenue or loss of profits, whether in contract, tort or under statute or otherwise arising from or connected with your use of Chatbot Services.

Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

  • We do not represent or warrant that access to this App, or any part of it, will be timely, uninterrupted, reliable or fault-free. CLP may wholly or partially modify or suspend this App without notice as CLP deems necessary (e.g. for maintenance, upgrading, security, emergency or other valid reasons).  CLP will take reasonable care to minimize such service disruption. 

  • You agree and understand that the information, material, database, products, Services and software available in this App are provided on an "as is", "as available" basis without warranties of any kind (explicit or implicit).  In particular, no warranty or representation regarding accuracy, timeliness, reliability, completeness, freedom from computer virus, security, non-infringement of the contents submitted by App users, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is given in conjunction with such information, material, database, products, services, software or merchandise. To the extent permitted by law, the CLP Group disclaims all warranties (explicit or implicit) of merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement of the merchandise and Services, whether or not provided by CLP, available in this App. All such implied terms and warranties are hereby excluded. 
  • You are responsible for the security of any data stored on your own mobile device and CLP will not be liable for any damage, loss or leakage of data on your mobile device resulting from the use of this App or download of any material. We do not warrant and cannot ensure the security of any information which you transmit to us. Any information which you transmit to us is transmitted at your own risk.

  • To the extent permitted by law, CLP shall, under no circumstances, be liable (whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise) to you, or any other person, for any loss or damage (including without limitation direct, indirect, consequential loss or special damage), howsoever caused, arising from:

a. the use of, or inability to use this App or the Services; or
b. the use of, or reliance upon any information or material provided on or in relation to this App or the Services / Payment Services; or
c. the unavailability of, or delayed or negligent provision of, this App, the Services or merchandise; or 
d. any merchandise or transaction; or
e. any merchandise not being of merchantable quality or fit for a particular purpose. 

  • Each of the above exclusions or limitations shall be construed as a separate, and severable, provision of these Terms.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this promotion, you must: 

  • Have a valid CLP residential electricity accounts (registered with Personal Names).
  • Successfully activate the CLP One account (including creating a CLP One profile, link ing electricity services and completing identity verification), and log in for the first time.
  • Customers having an CLP online account before 11 Oct 2024 will not be eligible

Promotion rewards

Once you successfully activated your CLP One account and logged in, we will credit 500 Domeo Points to your account within 7 working days. Each electricity account is entitled to receive this promotional welcome offer once only.

Please note that this promotion cannot be exchanged for cash or other products. We reserve the right to alter the terms and conditions of the offer at any time without prior notice and have the final decision on any disputes related to the offer.
