Sharing the Festive Joy

This programme invites the elderly and underprivileged to celebrate festivals at luncheons, share joyful moments, and reconnect with the community.

CLP Volunteer sharing energy saving tips with the elderly

Sharing joyful moments since 2014

Through this programme, we invite the elderly and underprivileged to:

  • Celebrate festivals such as the Tuen Ng Festival, Mid-Autumn festival and Senior Citizens Day with CLP volunteers;
  • Share with them about energy efficiency and safety at home; and
  • Broaden their social network and reconnect with the community.

More than 20,000 people have joined us to celebrate festivals

We partner with non-governmental organisations and local community groups to invite elderly and underprivileged individuals from Kowloon, the New Territories and outlying islands to join our activities.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CLP volunteers hosted online events to celebrate festivals with the elderly through video conferencing technology and delivered goody bags for beneficiaries. The volunteers also took the elderly on walks in Tsim Sha Tsui and showed them the beautified distribution boxes and substation to help them understand the relationship between electricity and the community.

In 2023, we enriched the programme to the Sharing the Festive Joy – Fun4Infinity, by empowering the elderly with digital technology to narrow the digital divide.
