3. Power: the higher, the better?

It really depends! Currently, EVs in the market only use 7kW or 11kW EV onboard chargers. That means even if someone purchased a higher capacity charger, such as 21kW, the charging speed will still be limited to 7kW or 11kW because of the onboard charger.

In general, an EV charges for 1 hour with a 7kW charger can drive approximately 35-40km, which is about the distance from the city to the airport. Charging 8 hours, the EV can travel up to 280-320km. This means a 7kW charger can fulfil the charging needs of most EVs. Be smart and choose the charger that suits your specific needs!
