Will I be charged more in total for my electricity because of the estimated bill?

Customers who receive an estimated bill will receive an amended or adjusted bill later based on the actual meter reading, ensuring customers are not overcharged.

If a customer received an estimated bill for the last billing period, the consumption period will cover the months when a meter reading would have been taken. The amended or adjusted bill is calculated using the block rate for that period to ensure customers are not charged at a higher block rate. Customers’ consumption patterns may differ this year because of the impact of the pandemic, leading to people spending more time at home and using more electricity at home, especially on hot summer days. Actual consumption with therefore be reflected in the upcoming bill, or amended or adjusted bills. To find out more about the calculation of amended or adjusted bills, click here.
