Terms and conditions

By applying for the Inverter Air Conditioner Replacement Subsidy Scheme (hereinafter referred to as the "Scheme"), you understand the details of the Scheme, the application method, and agree and accept the following terms and conditions:

1. Application period is from April 10, 2025 to Aug 31, 2025.

2. Applicants must be Hong Kong residents who have held Hong Kong residency for at least one year, and be holders of a CLP residential electricity account. Applicants or their family members (eligible individual) must meet one of the following application criteria:

    2.1 Elderly aged 65 or above who receive one of the following schemes:

• Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA); or
• Old Age Living Allowance (OALA)

    2.2 Low-income family and receiving one of the following schemes:

• Working Family Allowance (WFA); or
• Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA); or
• Full Grant of The School Textbook Assistance (TA); or
• Full remission of Kindergarten and Child Care Centre Fee Remission (KCFRS)

    2.3 The disabled and receiving one of the following schemes:

• Registration Card for People with Disabilities; or
• Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme with Transport Supplement; or
• Social Security Allowance (SSA) Scheme with Disability Allowance

3. The applicant electricity supply address and eligible individual can replace up to two air conditioners and receive subsidy. The subsidy amount is 70% of the sales price (including installation fee) of each air conditioner, with a maximum limit of HK$2,800.

4. Applicants must be CLP residential electricity account holders. If the eligible individual is not the applicant, the address on the eligible individual's supporting document must be the same as the applicant electricity supply address.

5. This scheme is only applicable to the replacement of specific models* of "window-type inverter air conditioners" with a Grade 1 energy label and is only applicable to purchases made through Domeo stores / e-Shop.

6. The installation address of the subsidised new air conditioner must be the same as the applicant electricity supply address and the installation must be completed within 3 months.

7. This scheme and the subsidy amount cannot be used in conjunction with other discount and cannot be exchanged for cash.

8. All applications are subject to CLP verification of eligibility. There is no retroactive period for this scheme and the subsidies. Any transactions before verification of eligibility will not be eligible for subsidy.

9. The scheme has a quota limit and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the date and time of complete transaction. Even after the eligibility is verified, the applicant may still be unable to obtain the subsidy due to full quota.

10. Application and purchase process:

    10.1 Apply and purchase in person at CLP Customer Service Center (Kwun Tong / Tai Po / Sham Shui Po / Mong Kok / Yuen Long)

• The applicant must bring their electricity bill and the mentioned supporting documents to the CLP Customer Service Center for verification.
• After verification of eligibility, purchase the specific model of air conditioner and installation services on-site.
• The subsidy amount will be directly deducted at payment.
• The applicant only needs to pay the remaining balance after subsidy and can arrange for inspection, delivery and installation. 
  •  Remark: Yuen Long store only accepts online payment.

    10.2 Application and purchase by phone / online

• Complete the “Online Application Form” on the scheme webpage and upload the mentioned supporting documents.
• The applicants must choose to purchase either by phone or online. The selection cannot be changed once made.

• If opting to purchase by phone:
  • Our staff will contact you the applicant by phone within seven working days to purchase the specific model of air conditioner and installation services.
  • The subsidy amount will be directly deducted at the time of payment;
  •  The applicants only need to pay the remaining balance after the subsidy (only Visa / MasterCard payment is accepted for telephone purchases) and can arrange for inspection, delivery and installation.

• If opting to purchase online:
  •  The applicants must provide the email address of their activated Domeo account.
  •  The applicants will receive a notification email of the result within seven working days.
  •  A designated purchase link and discount code will be included in the email. The discount code will automatically calculate the subsidy amount and expire after 7 days (after the date of sending). The applicants must complete the order and payment before the expiration date, otherwise the eligibility will be considered forfeited.
  •  Applicants must log in to the designated purchase link to purchase the specific model of air conditioner and installation service in order to use the discount code. Only one discount code can be used per order.
  •  The installation address must be the same as the applicant’s electricity account address.
  •  After payment is completed, supplier will contact the applicant to arrange inspection, delivery and installation.

11. CLP has the right to verify the relevant information provided by the applicant to confirm their eligibility for this scheme and ensure that the submitted information is true, complete and accurate.

12. CLP has the right to require the applicant to prove that the subsidised air conditioner is owned by the applicant using designated media such as photos and in designated manner within six months after the completion of the scheme.

13. If the applicant knowingly or willfully makes any false statement, conceal any fact, or resells, CLP have the right to cancel the application. The disbursed subsidy will be fully recovered through the electricity account or returned by the applicant. Please also note that provision of false or misleading information that impersonating any other person may constitute an offence, and you must be solely liable for such offence.

14. If CLP is not capable of running as planned for reasons including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other causes beyond the control of CLP Power, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this programme, CLP reserves the right to take any action that may be available.

17. CLP may in its sole and absolute discretion amend, delete or supplement any of these Terms and Conditions and to change, suspend or terminate the Services at any time without giving prior notice to customers.

18. In case of any disputes, CLP’s decision shall be final.

19. The English version of these Terms and Conditions shall prevail in case of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions.
